Mass extinction at the bottom of the sea
Under the blue sea struggling for air and living organisms: Worldwide there are in coastal areas already 400 sauerstoffarme (hypoxische) Zonen, so-called death zone (Dead Zones). Their combined land area is approximately 250.000 Square miles - an area the size of Germany. A team led by Michael Riedel and Bettina Stachowitsch by the Department of Marine Biology goes to the root of the problem experimentally.
The cause of the mass extinction at the bottom of the sea are so-called oxygen crisis.
